Great idea. I think making it a random partner selection would be the best option. Otherwise, things could get messy with people being thrown in together.
Have it posted in the forums and regularly have people sign up for it throughout the next few weeks. Then, on that day, somehow randomly sort out the teams. I feel like this is the only way to do it, unless you want to facepalm out of frustration.
Or you could do a round-robin style, and continually randomize the teams every game. I like bracketing better, but it's an option.
Let me know what you think, because I'd love a Lowelo tournament.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make the tournament or not, but it's a great idea and thanks for organizing it!
I think the idea of randomizing teams is a good one, but it would be nice if the teams could be posted at least a few hours ahead of tournament start time so that they can talk strategy.
Depending on the number of teams, you might consider a pool-play format for the initial rounds, followed by elimination rounds for the semifinals and finals. For example, if there are 8 teams, you could divide them into 2 pools (Pool A and Pool B). Each team plays the other teams in their pool (3 other teams) and the top 2 teams from each pool advance to the semi-finals. The advantage of this is that it guarantees each team a few games before elimination play. Just an idea!

Ok so seeing as we always keep talking about it but it never seems to get off the ground i'm announcing a tounament to be held in two saturdays (8/18/12) starting around 6pm. Also just so everyone knows this is not the be all end all this may be changes.
Here is how it will go we will have a "ref" to watch the game/record (may have to be one of the streamers but it doesn't matter) just in case there are some disputes about something we can have a replay to check out just in case. We will be having the main stream as lowelocommunity at lowelo.com/stream that will be traded out between different streamer teams, which shall be decided later.
Style: Probably best of one till semi or finals depending on time where it might be bo3 however this is going to be a ONE DAY TOURNY so there may be some things that are going to have to be tweeked.
Teams: there will be no premade teams, may be changed however i firmly believe that premade teams will be a bane on this tournament but that's just me. Teams will be settled in a day or two before with some latecomers, that Saturday, may be added in teams but this may de-balence the tourny a bit. (latecomers will be put in as best we can but we can't promise anything.
Joining: ill post the form after this post for anyone intrested in partisipating, make sure you will be available from 6pm to around 2am(may be earlier but just in case) EST on 8/18/12.
Streamers: Right now I am planning on only using the community casters for this job however I don't know how many of them want to play in the tourny instead of just casting so more on this later.
Server:NA may have to be 30 but at minimum have to have enough champions for draft mode, if under 30 you can still apply but we will keep you all informed
