Episode 9: “Cone Of Light” by The Almighty Defenders

Episode 9 is all about change and who better to turn to when change is looming than to Low Elo and League of Legends? To help spread the gospel, here's a track from a collaborative called The Almighty Defenders.

This album this track is from was written, recorded and mixed in one week following the Black Lips expulsion from India. They flew directly into King Khan's legendary studio in Berlin. It was both bands’ first major collaboration since a US tour 4 years earlier. The result, could be argued to not be a ‘gospel’ record in the traditional sense, sure. Instead, it's a record of pure spirituals from six wise magicians. This isn’t a tribute to a ‘god’, but a testimony to good taste - a church of the mind that's brimming with soul. How such demonic dudes can sound so angelic, we have yet to comprehend, but they somehow manage to bring the true spirit of gospel and make it as raw and beatific as the likes of the Velvet Underground. Exactly how two of the most respected and influential rock’n’roll bands of this decade would do it up.

Episode 8: “Look For Danger” by Waylon Thornton

What better way to celebrate a Dignitas League of Legends victory here at the Low Elo podcast than to listen to a little track by Waylon Thornton out of Florida?

He's a pretty indie dude with a taste for lo-fi surf rock and who can't appreciate that? Waylon Thornton is the main songwriter behind Waylon Thornton and the Heavy Hands and Damage Brain. He also releases music under his own name and takes some pretty cool pictures which he infrequently updates his Tumblr with.

Episode 7: “No correspondido” by Las Ruinas

What is it about Spain, League of Legends and Low Elo that makes for such a wonderful combination? Here's our second act out of Spain, Las Ruinas.

Las Ruinas is a heavy pop and low fi thunderstorm from Barcelona Spain. Created by Eduardo Chirinos (originally from Lima, Peru) when he moved to Barcelona eight years ago, Las Ruinas began as a solo project and then after a couple of shows and a lot of great local reviews two more members joined the band and together they start recording their self-produced first record “Butano”.
